Organic agriculture
Organic agriculture relies on natural systems to maintain and restore soil fertility, biodiversity and management of water resources and biological cycles in land use. This dismisses the use of synthetic agrochemicals, and the use of transgenic organisms.
The benefits provided by production systems of organic agriculture directly affect the protection and enhancement of the environment. They are specifically: the mitigation of emissions of greenhouse gases through fixation, reduction, sequestration, storage and uptake; water protection; protection of biodiversity in integrated systems of organic agriculture for its conservation and sustainable use and protection of organic agroecosystems.
