World Health Organization(WHO) recommends 4 g of Omega-3 fatty acids per day. About 30% of the chia seed is oil and from this, 64% is Omega-3. Therefore, 25 g. of chia seed cover daily human needs. This corresponds to 2 tablespoons of chia per day.

What is the best way to incorporate chia seed?

Chia seed has a very high fiber content that can not be attacked by our digestive enzymes, therefore, and to maximize the nutrients from the seed, it is better to consume ground. You can grind in a mortar, in a coffee grinder or using a food processor. Chia can be added to food or drink because it does not alter the original taste of them. It may be incorporated into soups, salads, sauces, stews, pies, along with breakfast cereals, yogurts and even in bakery products.
